Sam, along with six siblings, grew up in Kaplan, a small town in southwest Louisiana, population 5,000. He graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1983. In 1999, after several years of award-winng work on projects like Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Medical Plaza II and OLOLRMC School of Nursing, St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, First Bank of Crowley, and Tiger Stadium East Side Addition, Sam joined RHH as a full partner.

Sam’s talent for managing large-scale public and commercial projects, along with the firm’s strong roster of highly experienced architects, has allowed RHH to compete for, and smoothly manage, large public and commercial projects with tight budgets and tough deadlines.

Sam specializes in project administration and spec writing, and he has developed strong relationships with allied professionals through his expert management of large-scale, complex projects, particularly in the public sector. RHH enjoys a high level of repeat business from project Owners because of Sam’s continued engagement with, and understanding of, this highly complex market segment.

Sam’s steady management style and his vast knowledge of the building process have earned him respect among his peers and have helped shape the firm’s remarkable corporate culture. Married and father of three; Alexandra, Katherine, and Rex; Sam enjoys fitness, reading, spectator sports, hiking, and tennis.
